On November 21, within the framework of the International Forum Innovation Market with the
support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, saw a discussion panel on the
construction of a successful Israeli ecosystem of start-ups, investors, technology companies and
universities.
Innovation Market is a meeting place for innovators, inventors, creators and vendors of leading
innovative technologies, innovation experts, authors of start-up projects, business representatives,
investment and financial institutions, and intellectual property protection consultants.
In his speech, Evgeny Shulgin focused on the importance of innovation in the education system,
spoke about the commercial value of startups, shared his experience of cooperation with Israeli and
Ukrainian companies in the field of high technologies, and also stressed the need for further
development of the bilateral partnership between Israel and Ukraine in the education system.

The Ukrainian Israeli Innovation Summit

On November 20, 2018, an international tech conference, the Ukrainian Israeli Innovation Summit, was held in UNIT.City innovation park, with the strategic assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine. The event brought together more than 300 top managers, IT entrepreneurs, representatives of product and IT outsourcing companies, startups, and venture investors.

Representatives of Ukrainian and Israeli technology industries, key players in the field of cyber security, agricultural technologies, financial technologies, venture capital, as well as representatives of governments and corporations, attended the summit. Yossi Vardi (Internet entrepreneur, investor), Evgeny Shulgin (Head of the supervisory board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine), Boaz Inbol (General manager of innovation centers Wix.com), Yuval Tal (Founder and president of Payoneer), Karin Mayer-Rubinstein (CEO and President of the Israel Advanced Technology Industries) were invited as speakers.

The aim of the summit

The aim of the summit was to strengthen business relations between Israel and Ukraine in the innovation area, as well as to build a platform for the collaboration of specialists with impressive technological and innovative business experience.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine is confident that such events help strengthen the Ukrainian-Israeli business connections and bilateral partnership. We thank the Global Israeli Initiative headed by Alena Novgorodskaya and the UNIT.City (Vasil Khmelnitsky, Dmitry Yeremin) for organizing the summit.

In late July, the Ukrainian Trade Mission Summit was held in Tel Aviv, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine. The head of the supervisory board of the Chamber, Evgeny Shulgin, came to the radio station «Voice of the Capital» to talk about the summit and the importance of further developing the bilateral partnership between Israel and Ukraine.

On July 25, 2018, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine organized a large-scale summit in Tel Aviv on trade and economic cooperation between Israel and Ukraine. The Ukrainian Trade Mission Summit addressed the most pressing issues related to the economy and the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. During the course of the day, influential representatives of the corporate and public sectors delivered their speeches. Among them were Dr. Zvi Marom, founder and CEO of BATM and chairman of the board of directors of the Israeli Hi-tech Association, and Ami Levin, department director at Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry.
Head of the supervisory board, Evgeny Shulgin, and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine, Vlad Cherkassky, presented their expert opinions on the prospects for the development of a strategic partnership between Israel and Ukraine, as well as plans for the next 3 years.

First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, and Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Stepan Kubiv, was the guest of honor and head of the Ukrainian delegation. The Ukrainian Trade Mission Summit was attended by Knesset officials, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology, representatives of the foreign ministries of both countries and heads of many leading Israeli companies from various sectors of the economy. In view of the positive reviews of the guests and having appreciated the effectiveness of the selected format, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine intends to continue to organize such events in the future.
We thank the Manufacturers ’Association of Israel, the Export Institutes of Israel and Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Israel, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel for their cooperation and assistance in organizing the summit.

On September 21, 2018, the head of the supervisory board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine, Evgeny Shulgin, and the People’s Deputy of Ukraine and the President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Leonid Kozachenko, signed a memorandum of cooperation. The Chamber is confident that cooperation between our organizations will make a positive contribution to the development of trade and economic relations between Israel and Ukraine in the areas of agriculture and the food industry.

On June 14, 2018, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine and the Council of Entrepreneurs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation. The signing of this document is extremely important for further development of the strategic partnership between Israel and Ukraine. The parties are confident that the signing of a memorandum of cooperation will positively affect the economic and investment climate in Ukraine, and will also help Israeli investors and entrepreneurs to adapt more effectively to Ukrainian business processes.

On June 7, 2018, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine, the State Finance Institution for Innovations (Ukraine) and The Chaim Sheba Medical Center (Israel) signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation. The Chaim Sheba Medical Center, having the unique experience of creating an innovation center, on its premises confirmed its willingness to share existing knowledge with Ukrainian colleagues. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Israel-Ukraine hopes that the memorandum of understanding and cooperation will contribute to the qualitative strengthening of the bilateral partnership between Israel and Ukraine in the healthcare sphere.
